CHICAGO, Aug 23, 2021 – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Adtalem Global Education (NYSE: ATGE), a leading provider of health education and personal solutions, today announced the appointment of John Danaher, MD as President of Adtalem Medical, to lead its two medical schools, the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) and Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM), and the Medical Education Readiness Program (MERP). In his role, Danaher is responsible for the strategy and operations of medical schools, including academic programs, campus and clinical operations, and admission.

Prior to joining Adtalem, Danaher held various management positions at Elsevier, a global health information company, since 2013, improving clinical processes in health systems. Prior to heading Global Clinical Solutions, Danaher was President of Education at Elsevier, specializing in digital solutions for nursing and healthcare.

Prior to joining Elsevier, Danaher was President of the Schools of Health Sciences and Nursing at Kaplan University from 2009 to 2013. In this role, Danaher oversaw the schools’ hybrid operating models for online and face-to-face teaching and successfully integrated more than 20 separate online and face-to-face programs under one organization.
Early in his career, Danaher held several other leadership roles including Executive Vice President, Discovery Communications; Lecturer, Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School; Lecturer, Health Policy at Harvard School of Public Health; and Executive Vice President, Web MD.

Danaher received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He completed his residency and chief residency at Stanford University Medical Center. He also received his Masters of Business Administration from Stanford University. He also served as a White House Fellow for the Minister for Health and Human Services. Danaher has served on several corporate and non-profit boards of directors, community organizations, teaching faculties, and fellowships, including a White House fellowship. Danaher is located in the greater Chicago area.
