Graduates will contribute to diversity in the workplace and address the critical shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare sector
Adtalem Global Education (NYSE: ATGE) celebrated more than 1,000 graduates from its two medical schools – American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) and Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) – and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM). )) during recent inauguration ceremonies.
Graduates from Adtalem’s two medical schools are prepared to address the critical basic care labor shortage in the United States and to add to the diversity of the profession. In 2020, with RUSM and AUC combined 2.5 times more doctors graduating than the largest medical school in the US and more black doctors graduating annually than any other medical school in the US, these two institutions are making a significant contribution to the health workforce by address health inequalities. In addition, Adtalem Veterinary Faculty, RUSVM, annually recruits more veterinary doctoral students from underrepresented races and ethnic groups than other AVMA-accredited schools and completes them at the same rate or more than non-underrepresented races and ethnic groups.
With alumni practicing in almost every state, graduates are poised to make a lasting impact throughout their careers and improve patient outcomes across the country. The total number of Adtalem graduates from AUC, RUSM and RUSVM includes more than 22,000 medical school alumni, nearly 6,000 from RUSVM. Chamberlain University, which is also part of Adtalem Global Education, has also prepared 89,000 nursing and health alumni.
