Bermuda, Costco Companion on Testing Possibility for Vacationers Caribbean Journal

Bermuda has teamed up with wholesale chain Costco to offer a new PCR testing option to Bermuda travelers.

The program includes self-performed saliva tests that provide results within the island’s newly introduced five-day processing time.

Test kits are available online and are managed by Costco Pharmacy in partnership with AZOVA Health, which distributes the FDA approved tests.

Tests will soon be available in more than 100 Costco locations in New York and Boston.

A Costco membership is not required to take a test.

Bermuda is the first destination to partner with Costco under the program.

“We believe this is a big step forward in making it easier to access the pre-trip tests required for Bermuda visitors – they are available in the US, including major tourism markets with direct flights to the island,” said Glenn. , Interim CEO of the Bermuda Tourism Authority Jones. “The prospect of travel is still difficult for many. We work every day to make it a little easier. “

Until the end of the year, travelers will also have the opportunity to purchase test kits at selected Costco pharmacies, where a local pharmacist will watch customers self-administer the test.

“This is fantastic news for visitors and returning residents alike, and I would like to commend everyone for their work on it,” said Bermuda Health Minister Kim Wilson. “Having timely access to pre-arrival tests such as this licensed PCR saliva test under observation is a huge win for Bermuda.”
