Caribbean Journey Market 2021 Is Going Digital

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2021 conference will be held virtually.

The 2021 edition of the region’s leading tourism meeting for a long time will take place online from May 11th to 14th.

The marketplace organizers are working on an agenda that will give attendees more time to interact with tour operators, travel advisors, partners, trade and consumer media, according to Vanessa Ledesma, deputy CEO of CHTA.

“This virtual edition of the Marketplace offers unlimited access to the world and opens the event to a wider audience than logistics,” said Ledesma. “There will be pre-marketplace components to help global buyers better understand travel destinations and suppliers, and get information on entry requirements and safety protocols.”

This year’s event will last four days instead of the usual two.

“It’s longer than usual because the online format allows us to incorporate additional elements without affecting key buying and selling dates,” said Ledesma.

In creating this year’s program, she said the CHTA was reviewing feedback from attendees at previous marketplace conferences and exploring other virtual events to incorporate best practices.

“We look forward to the opportunity to develop and hold an event that is representative of our diverse culture and legendary hospitality. The Caribbean Travel Marketplace was a pioneer in its 39 years and has hosted some of the most iconic and memorable events in the region, ”said Ledesma. “We are ready to present the region and our diverse range of products virtually to the world.”

Last year’s event took place in Baha Mar, Bahamas.
