If You Check Optimistic for Covid Whereas Staying at This Caribbean Resort, You’ll Get a Suite or a Non-public Jet Dwelling—at No Cost

While there are signs that the travel industry is slowly recovering, this week the TSA reports the highest average number of aviators since the pandemic began. However, there remains a great deal of uncertainty about whether it is safe to hit the road – and a long list of regulations to be aware of when doing so. The latter includes a requirement that all commercial air travelers (including citizens and permanent residents) entering the United States must provide evidence of a negative Covid-19 test performed within three days of their departure. In response to this rule issued by the CDC, many international resorts offer on-site tests for their US guests before they leave. However, we only know of one place that offers a remarkable (and luxurious) way to deal with the situation when a guest tests positive.

The Baha Mar Resort is located in Nassau, Cable Beach in the Bahamas. It’s made up of three separate hotels – Rosewood, SLS, and Grand Hyatt – as well as a number of pools and restaurants, a spa, and a casino. The resort fully reopened this month with a number of security protocols including the need for a rapid antigen test in a private lounge upon arrival. The rapid test complements the negative PCR test, health insurance, and health visa currently required by the Bahamas government for incoming visitors.

An industry first, however, is what happens if you test positive – either on arrival or before departure. Thanks to the new Travel with Confidence program, guests who have a positive antigen test at check-in will be given a PCR test to confirm the results and will then have to stay in their suite for up to 14 days (or until they receive one) Quarantine put negative PCR test), whereby the resort pays the costs for each of these days in excess of what the guest originally booked. A similar situation occurs with departing guests. A few days before check-out, all guests whose destination countries require proof of a negative Covid test are offered the choice between a rapid antigen test (free) or a PCR test (USD 112 per person), both of which are carried out on site become. If a guest tests positive, they and their immediate group (who stay in the same room) will be offered a free stay of up to 14 days in a suite in the same hotel where they were originally booked.

The story goes on

In both cases, as guests are required to remain quarantined in their suite, they will receive a daily meal credit of $ 150 per person that they can use to order meals at selected resort restaurants. Should the guest prefer to return to the US immediately, Baha Mar will hire an authorized medical transportation provider to organize a free private jet home for the unwell guest and up to three other members of his immediate family. To qualify for either the Comped Suite or the airplane, Baha Mar must have been the guest’s first stop when entering the Bahamas.

“In this ever-changing travel environment, our goal is to address travelers’ concerns about Covid-19 to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our guests,” Graeme Davis, President of Baha Mar, said in a statement to the new initiative. “Our Travel With Confidence” program is the first of its kind in the industry and offers travelers added security and the ability to either return home safely or quarantine at no additional cost – the choice is yours. ” Travel with Confidence ”can be found here and for Baha Mar’s other wellbeing initiatives here.
