The locally owned Island Tingz Caribbean Grill will move to a larger space at 8790 FM 1960 Bypass Road W., Ste. 100, modest.

Owner Jackie Black said she was moving her restaurant from 7211 FM 1960 W., Humble, because the restaurant was rapidly gaining popularity and its cuisine was in the nearby Shop N Go Food Store – just months after it opened on December 1st 2020 – overhauled.

Island Tingz Caribbean Grill continues to serve Caribbean dishes like jerk chicken, oxtail, and beef patties. However, Black said the new spot will also sell alcohol and host reggae nights and live music.

The kitchen in the supermarket is being replaced by Black’s new concept, Cajun Soul Kitchen. Her new restaurant’s menu includes pork chops, fried chicken, shrimp etouffee, jambalaya and boudin balls. While the new restaurant doesn’t have a website yet, Black said it will open the new kitchen in late April along with the new Island Tingz Caribbean Grill. 281-446-0677.
