Jamaica’s JAPEX Commerce Present Is Going Digital Caribbean Journal

JAPEX, Jamaica’s premier tourism fair, is going virtual this year, the Jamaica Tourist Board announced this week.

JAPEX, the Jamaica Product Exchange, will take place virtually November 9-10, with the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association and the Jamaica Tourist Board engaging travel partners and “providing a special forum for leaders in the Jamaica tourism product” with travel wholesalers and tour operators all over the world ”, it says in a message.

Even with the virtual format, there will be elements of a traditional fair, officials said.

This includes a keynote presentation by Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett; a “virtual” exhibition area, breakout and training sessions as well as pre-planned one-on-one meetings with travel partners.

“JAPEX has always been a marquee on Jamaica’s tourism calendar and we look forward to another successful show,” said Donovan White, Jamaica Tourism Director. “While we won’t be able to meet in person this year, we have an exciting opportunity to virtually engage and give our delegates access to new destination offerings, to see how our protocols have been implemented to ensure the safety of residents and visitors, as well as to secure new deals that have a positive effect on our tourism industry and strengthen it. “
