Royal Caribbean plans Bermuda summer time cruises: Journey Weekly

Royal Caribbean International will be launching cruises from Bermuda in June aboard Vision of the Seas, their second ship scheduled to resume service off US borders for North America this summer.

Royal and sister line Celebrity Cruises announced on Friday that they will be departing from the Bahamas and St. Maarten respectively in June.

The seven-day cruises from Bermuda include Royal’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay and an overnight stay in Bermuda.

The cruises run from June 26th to August and can be booked on March 29th. Like the Bahamas Cruise and Celebrity’s of St. Maarten, they are only offered to adults who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and those under the age of 18 with negative test results.

“Travelers are eager to gradually venture out and start cruising again,” said Michael Bayley, CEO of Royal Caribbean. “By adding a second unique option to sail the Caribbean from a destination as rich and vibrant as Bermuda, we’re giving our guests choices on how to enjoy their well-deserved vacation this summer.”

The vision will moor at the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda. The island’s Secretary of Transportation, W. Lawrence Scott, said he was looking forward to “pre- and post-cruise opportunity in Bermuda”.
